WHY I DO WHAT I DO

I am so grateful to have worked with Rachel who helped me get in touch with what my healthy body looks and feels like.

I do this work because my personal and professional experiences have prepared me to work with others on finding their balance with food and feeling more at home in their bodies. I can't imagine doing anything else.

 

My personal experiences with a fourteen-year love/hate relationship with food, negative body image, and disordered eating have given me great compassion for and insight into this work. I know what it is like to be at war with your body or your appetite. I know how frustrating it is to not see the results you want and to feel that your body is betraying you. I know how scary it is to feel out of control around food.

 

 

 

 

I had been afraid that if I accepted myself things would never change. I learned the opposite is true: It is much more effective to love ourselves into the best versions of ourselves than to withhold that love as motivation for change.   

 

As my own relationship with food and my body dramatically transformed, I knew I wanted to share what I learned with others and be the professional support I wished I had found earlier.  I customized my professional skillset by earning credentials in cooking, nutrition and eating psychology in order to be able to offer interdisciplinary and personalized strategies that actually work. 

My aha moment:

I realized that I could both love and accept myself exactly as I was AND still have things that I wanted to change or improve about myself. 

I could not be more passionate about supporting you in your own healing and growth so you can start living the life you want to live!

Rachel Barach is a Certified Nutritionist with a uniquely holistic approach, having studied and worked in culinary arts, Eating Psychology, agriculture, and food standard certification. She has six years of professional cooking experience, including a stint in the kitchens of a Michelin-starred restaurant in Manhattan. Rachel leads group workshops and in her food coaching practice, Love Food & Body, she works with individuals to create sustainable and joyful practices that support physical and mental health.
